The upbeat tunes in this dual disk set are designed to teach special learners the fundamentals of speech. Because many children show a strength in singing even before they are able to speak, music offers an alternative path to communication for individuals with autism, apraxia, Down Syndrome, developmental disabilities, neurologic impairments, learning disabilities, and speech disorders.

These materials are also great for inclusion teaching and to teach language, social, and academic skills for early childhood and Head Start Programs.

Learning Volume 7 offers you a wealth of stimulating resources you can use throughout the week, including a full color insert with song lyrics, sample IEP objectives, 4-Step teaching hierarchy, and a special research section contributed by Dr. Michael H. Thaut, Professor of Music & Neuroscience at Colorado State University.

Each motivating tune on the Music CD contains simple instructions followed by plenty of resonse time for children to imitate each target sound, word, sign, or oral motor movement. The skills addressed include word imitation, sign language, yes & no, breath control, requesting, phrase length, object labeling, oral motor skills, and vocal imitation.

DATA SHEETS are provided for both the group and 1 to 1 settings to provide you a practical way to measure student progress.

LESSON PLANS can be printed out and bound to provide an easy-to-use guide.

SCHEDULED ICONS can be printed, laminated, and cut out to prepare students for the order of songs that will be presented, or to provide on a choice board for children to choose as a reward or break activity.

PHOTO FLASH CARDS correspond with each song and are ready for you to print and laminate.

The CD-ROM plays in your computer and includes a menu page that links to various PDF files. You will need Adobe Reader to open the PDF files. If you have a Mac computer, manual start-up of the CD-ROM is required.
