Team Up With Timo - Software For Communication & Reading ASC101 (CLON)  The animated tutor "Timo" in these software products engages children as a mentor and friend as he offers direct instruction and guided feedback throughout the programs. "Team Up Timo Stories" on CD-ROM develop language and cognitive concepts that children with autism and other language delays need to build reading skills. The highlighted words, voice-over and comprehension questions are an excellent way to build reading skills. The software program uses "scaffolded stories" that reduce processing demands and presents material in a narrative context. Vocabulary is introduced sequencially in six stories, and practiced and reviewed in six different activities that range from identification to simple problem solving. "Timo's Lesson Creator" on CD-ROM is an easy to use vocabulary lesson software tool that enables teachers, speech-language pathologists, and parents to create customized multimedia vocabulary and language lessons on the computer in minutes from pictures and their typed words for children with special needs. These children often have particular vocabulary and language issues that they need to work on individually. Timo, the animated tutor, coaches students through each new lesson onscreen offering encouragement and directions as needed. The following 3 easy steps can be used for creating, using, and sharing multimedia lessons:
1. Import Pictures - Any type of photo or graphic image can be used in this program such as Mayer-Johnson's Picture Communication Symbols (3500) that come with the program, photographs, or clip art obtained from other sources.
