"Listen & Collaborate" is designed to help teachers and therapists ask parents the right questions about a child's skills and use the collected information in the development of the student's individualized education program (IEP). Easy-to-use checklists are included to document progress across home and school settings. At intervals of time throughout the year, the team may revisit the information gathered to demonstrate the student's growth and progress toward the IEP goals. Each version of "Listen and Collaborate" that buyer receives contains 13 pages and is printed on brightly colored paper for quick access from within the individual's notebook.
The parent/professional partnership that "Listen and Collaborate" provides is used as a basis for students' educational and therapeutic programming. From the parents or guardians responses to the questions, the professional will determine the following from the:

2. Listening Section - What types of language will you use when speaking to the student? Will you use visual supports to make words more meaningful?
3. Safety Section - What safety precautions will you be take in your setting?

5. Social Development Section - What are some ways to engage the student socially with adults?
6. Self-help and Physical Development Section - What are some ways you will adapt the environment for the student to be independent?
7. Routines Section - What types of schedule, work system, and visual stucture seem appropriate based on parents' information?
8. Physical Development & Medical Section - What aids, supports, and precautions will be put into place in your setting?
9. All Sections - Other routines, goals or hopes, and steps that can be used.
