Sandbox Learning Success Stories - Social Skills Collection #2 SBL105  These are personalizable storybooks in which you can customize the illustrations to the child's appearance based on gender, hair style, hair color, skin color, eye color, glasses, and method of communication (words, sign language, picture exchange communication system, and augmentative communication device). You can also alter the text to personalize the story's content to truly address an individual's needs and help them connect with the topics. Build a special book together for a fun and creative activity or let a child know you care by creating a book just for them. These personalized and interactive books will also motivate reluctant readers and be helpful in working on sequencing and transitioning skills.

Social Skills Collection #2 contains the following 6 books:

1. "Being Honest" is a 13 page book that discusses honesty when answering questions, playing games, and completing work. Allows for personalization of specific situations for being honest, guardian (parents, grandparent), teacher's name, hometown, and other aspects of the story.

2. "Showing Respect" is a 12 page book that discusses respect for yourself, other people, places, rules, and ways of showing respect.

3. "Making Good Choices" is a 13 page book that discusses making choices and the consequences of the choices. The story includes personalization of the child's name, teacher, friends, and choices and consequences at school and home.

4. "Working Together" is an 12 page book that discusses working with others including listening, sharing ideas, and helping at home and school. Friends' names, activities for working together, and coping strategies for when the child's idea is not selected are some of the story's personalized questions.

5. "When Things Change" is a 12 page book that discusses feelings associated with change and ways to cope with it. Includes personalization of small and big changes that are especially difficult for the child and individual coping strategies.

6. "Please, Thank You, and Excuse Me" is a 13 page book that discusses the basic manners of using please, thank you, and excuse me.

Purchase a card that gives you internet access to print the books ordered for 1 year with unlimited copies for an unlimited number of students. Your password gives you the capability to print the customizable books in color or in black and white to be used as a coloring book. Worksheets are also included for working on additional skills.

These books are excellent for all children, normally developing and those with special needs. The books are especially good for children diagnosed with autism and aspergers and other developmental delays as they are high in visual supports.
