Sandbox Learning Success Stories - Daily Routines & Rules Collection #2 SBL106  These are personalizable storybooks in which you can customize the illustrations to the child's appearance based on gender, hair style, hair color, skin color, eye color, glasses, and method of communication (words, sign language, picture exchange communication system, and augmentative communication device). You can also alter the text to personalize the story's content to truly address an individual's needs and help them connect with the topics. Build a special book together for a fun and creative activity or let a child know you care by creating a book just for them. These personalized and interactive books will also motivate reluctant readers and be helpful in working on sequencing and transitioning skills.

Daily Routines & Rules Collection #2 contains the following 6 books:

1. "Listening & Following Directions" is a 15 page book that discusses listening and following directions at home, school, and in the community. Specific times to listen at home and school are customized to address each child's needs.

2. "My Day at School" is a 17 page book that takes the main character through a school day including such activities as independent work, group time, recess, physical education class, art, and music.

3. "School Rules" is a 13 page book that discusses following rules in the classroom and school. Allows for personalization of specific rules in these settings.

4. "Bus Rules" is an 13 page book that discusses following school bus rules including waiting for, riding on, and exiting the bus. Allows for personalization of specific rules.

5. "Making Good Choices" is a 13 page book that discusses making choices and the consequences of the choices. The story includes personalization of the child's name, teacher, friends, and choices and consequences at school and home.

6. "When Things Change" is a 12 page book that discusses feelings associated with change and ways to cope with it. Includes personalization of small and big changes that are especially difficult for the child and individual coping strategies.

Purchase a card that gives you internet access to print the books ordered for 1 year with unlimited copies for an unlimited number of students. Your password gives you the capability to print the customizable books in color or in black and white to be used as a coloring book. Worksheets are also included for working on additional skills.

These books are excellent for all children, normally developing and those with special needs. The books are especially good for children diagnosed with autism and aspergers and other developmental delays as they are high in visual supports.

"School Brakes" is a 13 page that discusses going on school break, enjoying activities during the break, and returning to school after the break. Allows for personalization of the type of break such as weekends or holidays, people the child will spend time with during the break, friends' names, and break dates.

Monitoring Materials are also available for use with these books to document progress towards meeting individualized education plan goals (IEP goals), to record behavior and behavior modification, and to have a greater understanding of an intervention's efficacy.
