Pick Your Points Interactive Game - Pre-Literacy Skills Version JR113  This game covers covers 10 different skills at Easy, Medium and Hard levels as follows:
Part 1 - Letters, Numbers, Following Directions, Rhyming, Categories
Part 2 - Who, What, Where, When, Why

It targets the following language skills:
1. Maintaining eye contact
2. Following directions
3. Identifying and labeling items
4. Imitating words/phrases
5. Understanding and using basic concepts (color, shape, quantity)
6. Understanding and using positional concepts (prepositions)
7. Identifying a variety of nouns and verbs
8. Increasing social language skills
9. Identifying words that rhyme
10. Demonstrating and describing functional use of objects
11. Answering "wh" questions
12. Understanding that letters represent sounds
13. Identifying beginning sounds in words
14. Taking turns
15. Recognizing numbers
16. Understanding the concepts of before and after
17. Understanding the concepts of same and different
18. Categorization/vocabulary development

This game includes: one double-sided, magnetic, dry erase board (18in. x 14in.), 40 magnets, manual with tabs, and a 20" X 16" handy carrying case.

Directions For Use:
Choose a set of five language skills and place the colored magnet at the top of the magnetic board. Place the cooresponding colored circles under the heading. Reproduce the game board provided in the manual for each student or team of students. Use plastic chips as markers or make another copy of the game board and cut out the illustrations to use as markers. The teacher asks the student to select an illustrated magnet from the magnetic board. For example, Johnnie selects a picture of a kite. The picture falls under the Following Directions heading. The teacher then refers to the manual and chooses an item to present at a designated level. It is suggested that you introduce each language skill at the easy level, continuing on to the medium and hard levels as the student masters the concepts. If the student answers correctly, he receives a chip to place on the corresponding illustration on his game board. In the above example, Johnnie selected a kite. If he answered correctly, he would place a chip on the kite illustration on his game board. If he answers incorreclty, he would not receive a chip. The winner of the game is determined by whoever has the most chips on his board at the end of the game.
