Pick Your Points Interactive Game - Articulation Version JR115 (CLON) #567
Pick Your Points Interactive Game - Articulation Version JR115 (CLON)  This interactive game covers the phonemes /r/, /s/, and /l/. Each phoneme has a sound discrimination section, words in the initial, medial and final positions, and sentences. Each section has Easy, Medium and Hard levels. This is a great game to use that is fun for the children and it also gives you a way to get percentages to put on I.E.P.s.

The game includes: one double-sided, magnetic, dry erase board (18in. x 14in.), 45 magnets, 156 page manual, and a handy 20" X 16" carrying case.

Directions For Use:
Choose the "R," "S," or "L" set of skills and place these at the top of the board. Place the circles, from the lowest number (5) to the highest number (30) under each skill. The teacher then asks the student to select a skill level (sound/discrimination, initial words, medial words, final words, or sentences) and the number of desired points. Five and ten points are easy, fifteen and twenty points are medium, and twenty five and thirty points are hard. The teacher then refers to the manual and gives the student a word to practice. This can be done in a number of different ways as follows:
1. The teacher may give the student one to five words to practice at the easy level, five to ten words at the medium level or ten to twenty words at the hard level (depending on how many points the child chooses).
2. The teacher may give the student a percentage they must achieve to obtain points. The percentage level can vary according to the student's level, for example, if a student is at the initial word level and chooses thirty points, the teacher tells the child they have to say thirty words with 20% accuracy. As the student improves, the percentage goes up. The student receives points only if they achieve the desired percentage.
3. The teacher may choose to have the student repeat one word from one repetition to thirty repetitions. A percentage level should also be set depending on the student's ability. The student again receives the points if they obtain the desired percentage level.

A "Data Collection Form" for tracking measurable objectives is included in the manual.

A set of counters or clickers (not included) is useful to count right/wrong answers to achieve accountability. The more repetitions a student completes, the better they do. Data suggests that if a child cannot repeat error sounds in rapid repetitions, carryover to connected speech is limited.
