As a general rule, the skills addressed in these Bingo games developed by Peggy Kipping and Jason Crosier should be introduced, practiced, and mastered by your students in the order in which they normally develop: Sound Awareness first, then Rhyming, then Segmentation, and finally Blending.
Feel free to adapt these games to meet your students' specific needs. Before beginning play, ensure your students can say the names of each picture on the game boards by reviewing them together. Students play exciting variations like Five in a Row, Blackout, and Four Corners while honing skills in Sound Awareness, Rhyming, Segmentatin, and Blending.
These adaptable games allow you to challenge older students with segmentation activities that require identification of words within words, or ease your youger students into the world of phonological awareness with sound awareness tasks. Use these games to challenge and stimulate your entire caseload.
The complete game program contains an instruction booklet, 6 game boards, and tokens.
You can also combine the materials, activities, and ideas presented in "Phonological Awareness Games", "Phonological Awareness Board Games", and "Phonological Awareness Bingo" as a complete, ready-to-go phonological awareness resource to complement your present reading curriculum or therapy program.
