Music Therapy

Using a combination of inventive songs and vibrant visual support gives therapists the ability to connect music to real life outcomes. Music not only gets students excited about learning, but helps lock in core concepts, organizes movement, and offers an alternate plan to communication. Music is an evidence-based therapy for speech-language pathologists, teachers and parents to add to their repertoire to enhance results of therapy for all at-risk children as well as all diagnoses that result in learning difficulties. It is particularly effective for children diagnosed with autism, Down syndrome, Williams syndrome, brain injury, learning disabilities, speech disorders, and other learning needs.

Music is a powerful memory aid and effective way to help organize communication and movement. Inventive songs can be used for targeting common IEP objectives in areas such as social skills, language, academic learning, speech and oral motor development, motor skills, behavior, and daily living tasks.
