Macaroni and Baloney - A Step 3 Picture Book Set SPR103  Children learn faster and more easily when materials are FUN! Enhance a child's motivation by playing with language. "Macaroni and Baloney's" lunchtime argument has humor, sharply focused visual fields, and supersized flash cards that lead the child to a life-long enjoyment of reading. It takes the reader to a second grade level with more advanced vocabulary and with pictures and type in the same visual field.

This picture book (11" X 8.5") is built on 10 different words and comes with oversized flash cards (11" X 4.25") and easy instructions on using the materials. It is designed for children who need help with fluency and focus. Features of the book are:
> One short sentence per text page with easy-to-read Helvetica type in 60 point size (approximately 5/8" high).
> Oversized flash cards are included for non-phonetic and long words.
> Illustrations are bright, uncluttered, easy to read, and placed opposite to text.
> Easy parent/educator instructions for using the Fast Flash method.
> One short sentence per double-spread until end of book.

Ten jumbo flash cards (11" x 4.25") are included for the following words:

With this easy-to-read book, special needs children can quickly experience the thrill of reading success. Children with developmental delays or challenges such as Down Syndrome, Autism, and ADD/ADHD can succeed quickly in reading "a whole book!"

The interactive CD-ROM has an electronic version of the book as well as both on-computer activities and off-computer activities with plenty of auditory feedback.

On-computer activities include: extra visual practice (matching words to pictures) and auditory practice (hearing the word or selecting the correct word) with encouraging sounds for correct choices.

Off-computer activities include print-outs for games matching pictures and words; additional large flash cards can be printed as an extra set for matching tests.
