Joe Rock & Friends Book Set 1 - CD & DVD BN101 (CLON)  This book set combines state of the art 3D graphics with captivating and interconnected stories, multiple reading levels, multi-language and translation features, read-to-me capabilities, sing-along-songs, and special effects.

Stories in this set (CD & DVD) include:

1. "Joe's New Look" - Joe the Rock was happy with his life in the vegetable garden, enjoying the seasons and singing his songs to the slugs, when a young girl named Kate takes him home with her. Kate gives Joe a new look and he soon becomes a rock star.
2. "Mr. Grumpy-Face" - Joe the Rock has been playing a game with some children who leave him in a tree. Joe becomes very tired of waiting and gets grumpy. Some very cheery Downy woodpeckers come by and try to cheer him up. He befriends a caterpillar.
3. "Joe & the Twins" - Joe the Rock is afraid that the twins, who come to visit Kate, are stealing toys. Joe has a great time playing with the twins but when its time for them to go home they hide Joe in a dark place. Joe is sure they are stealing him.

These stories provide an amazing reading experience for emerging readers.

> They start with great stories, full of quirky humor, and bring the stories to life with amazing 3D illustrations.
> Then they add some fun songs and the ability to choose one of three levels for the beginning reader. Each CD contains 3 great stories - about 100 pages of reading at each level.
> They added a 'read-to-me' function so children can choose to sit back and enjoy reading along with a professional reader or mouse over any difficult word to hear it.
> They have also translated the stories (all 3 levels) and songs into Spanish and French with instant translation features between any 2 languages as well as a pop-up dictionary. Just double click on any word. "Help" video guides the user through all the product features.

Following is a list of what is provided for teachers and home learners:
1. Common Classroom Themes - Life cycles, safety, personal planning, coping with change, honesty, inclusion, the Inuit, the environment, etc.
2. Open-ended Materials - Stories and themes are presented in a way which supports discussion and leaves room for imagination.
3. Support For Different Abillities - The unique multi-level stories provide an opportunity for teachers to plan activities for a wider range of students around the same story.
4. Word Lists - These provide some raw materials that may be useful for pre-reading activities, creating crosswords or word searches or getting a quick overview of the vocabulary.

These activity books were designed to enhance the learning experience of all three stories in this set. The pages in each workbook are designed to match the three different reading levels in the story. Each page suggest the level (1, 2, 3) but these are only guidelines. Use the activities in whatever way suits you best: as individual or class activities, for home learners, or as enrichment for children at home. Depending on the child, the activities can be independent or used to introduce children to new learning.
