Fold a Book (Second Edition) PE9338 (CLON)
Fold a Book (Second Edition) PE9338 (CLON) #436
Integrate more stories and story activities into your school language curriculum or speech-language intervention program. It's easy with this new twist to sequencing stories. Develop oral language and literacy skills in a collaborative classroom environment by helping students create their own illustrated books that target specific speech and language skills.
Teach semantics, morphology, syntax, and phonology at four different levels all in meaningful context. You'll have illustrations for over 200 sequenced stories. Selected stories target 19 phonemes. Each story gives students the opportunity to practice a target phoneme at least four times. Stories are divided into seasonal sections and include theme stories for holidays such as Thanksgiving, Fourth of July, Valentine's Day, and Halloween.
Therapists can choose different scenarios that appeal to their students from the reproducible illustrations. Each student folds a book from a standard-size sheet of paper, places the panels in order, and the story-writing process begins. You'll have instructions in the manual for creating the booklets by folding standard sheets of paper.
Help your students become authors. Ask them to create a title for their story and a story line for each picture. Students will have fun writing and talking about these sequenced stories. You'll have suggestions for in-class and home carryover activities to use after the stories are written.
Have your students take their books home and read them with their parents. Or have them assemble the book at school, then write the story at home. The possibilities are endless!
