Come Learn With Me Comprehensive Language Program CLWM108  Come Learn With Me builds cognitive and language skills and vocabulary using real toys and pictures from a variety of familiar settings, such as home and farm, that can be generlized into their natural environment. The materials captivate young children between birth and five years of age and provide abundant resources for educators and parents.

This comprehensive language program will increase children's ability to:
1. Identify and name common objects
2. Learn action words
3. Understand and use prepositions and pronouns
4. Follow one and two-step directions
5. Respond to yes/no and wh-questions
6. Match objects, pictures, and animal sounds
7. Sort and categorize objects
8. Idendify objects by their function

This kit comes complete with tote bag, instruction manual containing a breakdown of language and cognitive skills, age ranges, sample objectives, data collection sheets, procedures & prompts, and classroom activities. A sorting board, 66 manipulative pictures, the complete set of books including Come Find Me, Come Ride With Me, Come To My Farm, Come To My House, & Come Move With Me, 27 real objects including animals, vehicles, foods, and functional objects, and finally reinforcers including bubbles and spill proof tumbler, tops, and water squirters.

Come Find Me is an additional book with blank pages and velcro dots not found in the other sets that addresses the following language skills:
> Vocabulary Builder: Example - Give child the directive, "Get apple."
> Yes/No Questions: Example - "Is this a cat?"
> Following Directions: Example - "Give me the boat."
> "Wh Questions": Example - What's that?"
> Data Collection

The following skills are addressed in the 35 page instruction manual:

1. Receptive Language Skills – Refers to understanding the meaning of words, which may include verbal or visual language. It is important to recognize that children begin to understand language before they are able to use words to communicate.
A. Identifying real objects – Point to apple; show me apple
B. Identify pictures – Point to ball; show me baby
C. Identifying actions – Point to sleeping; show me eating
D. Following one-step directions – Get cow; give me car; kiss baby
E. Following directions related to prepositions – Put the pig in the mud; Take the pig out of the barn.
F. Following two-step directions – Give me boat and train. Put the cow in the mud and the pig in the barn.

2. Expressive Language Skills – Refers to the ability to communicate using spoken or printed words. Children begin using a variety of modes to communicate their wants and needs.
A. Labeling real objects – What’s that?
B. Labeling pictures – What’s that?
C. Responding to yes/no questions – Is this a cat? Is the cow in the barn?
D. Responding to what questions – What’s that? What is he doing? What do you drink with?
E. Responding to where questions – Where is the dog?
F. Responding to who questions – Who is that? Who is eating? Who is in the car?

3. Cognitive Skills – Refers to the progressive and continuous growth of perception, memory, imagination, conception, judgment, reasoning, and thinking skills. There are many basic concepts a child develops in the early years through play and interaction with his environment.
A. Matching objects to pictures – Find the same; find a match
B. Matching animals to their corresponding sound – What says moo?
C. Categorizing objects – Find all the clothes; find all the things that go together.
D. Identifying objects by their function – What do you drink with?
E. Identifying gender - Show me the boy
