Can A Toucan Hoot Too? - A Phonemic Awareness Tale CHP104  Can a Toucan Hoot Too? is the first in the series of scintillating, stimulating phonemic awareness tales that entertains Pre-K through first graders while educating them on early literacy and beginning reading skills. For the benefit of the Head Start, Pre-K, and early elementary teachers, parents, and speech pathologists a section is included in the back of the book with the targeted skills and suggested activities. The repetition in this book is excellent for those students who require more practice; i.e. English as a Second Language, students at risk for dyslexia, and students in speech and language including autism. The repetitive dialogue also makes the book great for scripting and acting out the story using animal hand puppets or student made puppet masks.
