Artic & Lit - Materials for Articulation Carryowver Using Children's Literature ECL 52034 (CLON) #371
Artic & Lit - Materials for Articulation Carryowver Using Children's Literature ECL 52034 (CLON)  Forty popular children's stories have been analyzed for developmentally appropriate phonemes, language structures, and concepts. Presented in general order of increasing difficulty, the wide variety of story-related articulation and language activities enable specialists and teachers to target specific goals while integrating listening, thinking, speaking, and reading skills.

For each of the 40 stories, the following reproducible materials are provided:

> Articulation activities
> Lists of story-related words organized by target phoneme
> Gameboard and cards for target word practice
> Story-related language activities

The activities in this book are appropriate for students who have speech and language disorders or delays, non-English speakers, and students at risk for learning and language. The diversity of activities simplifies collaborative planning for speech and language specialists, special and regular education teachers. Chapter I teaches, teachers of the hearing impaired and other professionals.

In addition to being used for articulation carryover, the language activities for each story target general expression as well as specific language skills. Among the language skills covered are syntax, vocabulary, sequencing, classification, similarities/differences, prepositions, and pragmatic skills such as answering questions, describing events and objects, expressing opinions, predicting and problem solving.
