Lani Popp and Megan Rhoden are co-founders of Talking Tunes, a company launched in 2009 to combine speech therapy and music therapy strategies to teach essential speech and language skills to special needs students from toddler age into teenage years. Plain Talkin’ is their first CD and CD-Rom which introduces noun phrases, pronouns, prepositions, auxiliary verbs, WH questions and a variety of pragmatic and social skills through music styles ranging from blues to swing, pop and rap.
Lani Popp is an ASHA certified speech pathologist working at Kuentz Elementary School in the Northside Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas. She received her BS in Education and MS in Speech Pathology from Baylor University. Lani has over fifteen years of experience working with pre-school through High School students, successfully incorporating music into her therapy sessions. She has spoken at a number of workshops and conferences on how to incorporate music into speech programs. Lani has five of her own children, all of whom play instruments and sing. She has been married to her husband, David, a practicing pediatrician, for 29 years. Lani also teaches classical guitar students, directs her choir at church, and coaches cheerleading.

Megan Rhoden is a Board Certified Music Therapist at Northside Independent School District in San Antonio, TX. She received her Bachelor's of Arts in Music Therapy at the University of the Incarnate Word and completed her internship at Methodist Children's Hospital in San Antonio. She has practiced music therapy in hospitals, clinics, day treatment centers, private schools, and currently in the public school system. She works with special needs children and trains educators to incorporate music therapy strategies into their programs. She also teaches private piano lessons to students in their homes. Megan has been married to her wonderful husband, Kevin for four years, who is currently teaching high school math.
